Massa eager to get back to racing

Felipe Massa is back to normal and is already thinking about a return to racing, according to his doctor.

There were fears for the Brazilian's life when he fractured his skull during qualification for the Hungarian Grand Prix last weekend, but he has since undergone successful surgery.

And although Massa is staying in Hungary until he regains his strength, doctor Dino Altman believes he is well on the way to recovery.

"He is back to normal," Altman said.

Ferrari adviser Michael Schumacher, 40, is set to come out of retirement to act as a temporary replacement, but the doctor said that Massa has joked about denying the German the chance as he wants to be back in action for the next event on August 23.

"He was joking with his friends and his brother," Altmann revealed.

"He was telling us he heard about the Schumacher news, and he told us: 'Let's see if I let him drive the car, because I won't give up.'

"Racing is the only thing he is thinking about, it's his fixed idea. He has no fears at all. He thinks he would be able to race in Valencia."
