Hamilton and his Pussycat Doll no longer an item

Lewis Hamilton is once again single after he and Pussycat Doll singer Nicole Scherzinger confirmed that they have ended their relationship.

The duo revealed in a joint statement that they have decided to split after two years so that they can focus on their careers.

"Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton can confirm that they have decided to go their separate ways," a statement read.

"The two of them have decided to focus fully on their careers and will remain close friends."

Scherzinger, 30, has been a familiar face in the paddock since she met Hamilton at the MTV Europe Awards in Munich in November 2007

However, speculation has been rife since the Italian Grand Prix in September that the duo have decided to go their separate ways due to Hamilton's reluctance to settle down.

Their split will be a disappointment to those who had been looking forward to a "battle of the Wags" at McLaren between Japanese model Jessica Michibata, Jenson Button's partner, and Scherzinger.
