The BMW-Sauber team, BMW by nothing more than name, presented their C29 to the world at Valencia on Sunday in a rather low-key event.
Having bought his Formula One team back from BMW following their withdrawal from the sport, Peter Sauber was on hand for the unveil of his team's 2010 machine, the C29.
"The last few months have been very intense for us," said Sauber. "First we had to battle to secure the survival of the team and then we focused on putting a strong set-up in place for the future.
"The technical preparation of the 2010 car has continued uninterrupted and according to plan since the spring of 2009, despite all the turmoil."
The new car features a bigger fuel tank than those used in recent seasons due to the ban on refueling and includes the double-decker diffuser, which has become standard for F1 cars as it has a major impact on the car's downforce.
It has a shark finn engine cover, although the design of it is keeping more with that used by Red Bull last season than what was shown on McLaren's 2010 challenger.
As for the livery, it's the white-and-dark-blue, however, the white really stands on as there are no sponsor logos on the car.
The C29 will be driven by an interesting mix of racers after Sauber opted to sign Kamui Kobayashi, teaming the Japanese driver up with 38-year-old Pedro de la Rosa.
Kobayashi brings with him enthusiasm, raw talent and determination as he proved during his two races for Toyota last season while de la Rosa has a wealth of experience, much of it gathered during his seven years testing with McLaren.
