Campos claim saviour, VW refuse to comment
Quote:
Campos Meta have once again claimed that a saviour is on the horizon, however, Volkswagen refuse to comment on whether its them.
Campos is one of two newcomers to the F1 grid who is believed to be in serious financial trouble before even having turned a wheel in anger.
However, the team is determined to retain their place on the grid, confident that help is on its way.
"Within the next 24 hours we will name our new investor," a Campos insider told Auto Motor und Sport.
However, it is not known what the potential investor is. While previously it was thought that A1GP boss Tony Teixeira was interested in buying a stake in the team, new reports in Spain claim it could in fact by Volkswagen.
VW, though, have refused to confirm or deny the rumours.
Volkswage motorsport boss Kris Nissen said: "I cannot comment on this. I know only about this from the internet and because I called one of our drivers Carlos Sainz on the weekend to hear about the story."
