Parente loses Virgin test driver role
Alvaro Parente has lost his Virgin test driver role after his sponsorship deal fell through.
Parente had secured one of Virgin's two test driver slots thanks to the backing of Tourism Institute of Portugal. However, the TIP pulled out of the deal, leaving the 2005 British Formula Three Champion out in the cold. "After agreeing to everything they fell off and didn't commit," Parente told Autosport magazine. "I'm just trying to get something sorted for this year but I have no budget now, so it's crazy."
