Default USF1: We are not gone

Quote:
The embattled USF1 team have insisted that, contrary to reports, they are still going strong.

Yet their announcement failed to provide emphatic reassurance, however, with their first public uttering in many weeks only delivered via Twitter because "the web server is down and is being repaired as this is written."

Hardly a statement you would expect to read from a team on the verge of joining what is at least in theory the pinnacle of motor racing.

"We are not gone, as many have reported. More news soon," their 'tweet' concluded.

Reports of the team's demise have included a claim in the New York Times earlier this week that the team's financial woes meant they were unable to meet their January payroll.

In addition, an Argentine media outlet claimed that the team had told their only confirmed driver, Jose Maria Lopez, that they won't be racing this season while others report that he's already signed a deal with rivals Campos Meta.

Sad that people passionate about racing (not sure if this team is though) will find it hard to reach F1 considering all the big wigs already there
