Stefan GP refuse to comment on JV rumours
Quote:
stefan GP team owner Zoran Stefanovich is refusing to comment on reports that Jacques Villeneuve is in frame for a drive.
Villeneuve, who quit F1 midway through the 2006 Championship after falling out with BMW, has made it known that he would like to return the sport in which he won the World title in 1997.
In recent days the Canadian has been linked to potentional F1 team, Stefan GP, who are seeking a place on this year's grid.
According to Autosport, Villeneuve has in fact agreed terms with the Serbian outfit where he would partner Kazuki Nakajima.
However, Stefan GP boss Stefanovich has refused to comment on his team's driver situation.
"We are in various negotiations, but it has not been sorted out completely now," he told 422race.com.
"We are very close to deciding and, very shortly, we will be announcing the drivers officially. At the moment not yet, but we are very near. But we still cannot confirm any names yet.
"Many drivers are in the shortlist but, please, we are not going to publish anything at the moment. All I can say that at least one of them will be Japanese."
