Default Seb: Too early to draw conclusions

Sebastian Vettel believes it is way to early to start drawing conclusions about the 2010 season.

Fernando Alonso led home a Ferrari 1-2 in the Bahrain GP and they were followed by Lewis Hamilton from McLaren. Vettel had to settle for fourth after picking up a spark plug problem.

Ferrari drew a lot of praise after the raise and many expect them to be the pacesetters this year.

However, Vettel says we should "wait a bit" before can get a clear picture of who the true leaders will be.

"They looked extremely competitive," he told Autosport. "For sure, quicker than anyone else, but also in winter testing, all the way through, they have been very, very strong. But it will also be circuit to circuit. Some circuits you like more, some circuits you like less - sometimes from a driver point of view, sometimes the car just behaves better on one type of circuit.

"So, it is difficult to really say, okay, this car or that car. For sure there are four teams that are very strong, but the midfield is also very strong - like Force India. We have done one race in Bahrain. That is the only real experience we have, apart from testing, so we need to wait a bit more."

Despite his problem in the season opener, Red Bull received a lot of positive feedback and Vettel sees no reason why they won't carry their excellent pace over to this weekend's Australian GP.

"Well I think coming out of Bahrain, we have a very good car," he is quoted by Autosport. "There is no reason why we shouldn't be competitive here. I like Albert Park, it is a nice track. It is usually quite slippery in the beginning, but I think we had a good race last year. It obviously wasn't a good finish but the car was quick as well, and it should be good as well."
