Default Schumi: Not easy to improve the show

Despite his complaints about the Bahrain bore, Michael Schumacher is symphatic with the powers-that-be in their attempt to improve the F1 spectacle.

Schumacher made his Formula One debut back in 1991 and has witnessed the many changes that the sport has undergone ever since. And this year was no different.

A ban on refuelling, narrower front tyres, no KERS, three new teams and four World Champions on the grid were expected to be all the ingredients F1 needed for best season in years.

However, instead the opening race in Bahrain proved to be little more than a boring procession, earning widespread criticism from fans, the media and even those in the paddock.

And although Schumacher was one of the first to comment on the boring race, the Mercedes GP driver admits it's not an easy task improving the show.

"The matter of fact is there was no overtaking," Schumacher told AP. "But tell me when there has been more overtaking?

"Formula One has always had this situation.

"There are very clever people always thinking how to improve, make things better ... it's not so easy."
