Senna given HRT's backing

HRT boss Colin Kolles has tried to dispel growing rumours over the future of Bruno Senna by telling reporters he is happy with the progress being made by both the team's drivers.


HRT has struggled since its last-minute entry this season and has had technical and reliability issues. Test driver Sakon Yamamoto has recently been linked with possibly taking over from Senna, although the team's other driver, Karun Chandhok, is not subject to such speculation as he has brought considerable funding with him.

"Karun and Bruno are very talented young drivers which developed well in the first races." Kolles said. "Bruno had quite a good qualifying and race in Istanbul, Karun a good race in Monaco.

"Unfortunately Bruno has been stopped by a fuel pick up problem and Karun by a race incident, to get a good result in these races. I am confident and looking forward to Bruno and Karun doing a good job in the coming races which will improve the overall performance of the team."

"We expect a similar performance if not better [in Canada]. I think the car characteristics will fit better to circuits like Canada and Valencia. We should get closer."
