Default Alonso set for a Ferrari future?

Same old newsmill running again. Wonder if it could be true since Ferrari will be a bit desperate to make amends next year

Quote:
September 11th 2009 could be the date on which Fernando Alonso is revealed as a Ferrari driver for the next five Formula One seasons.

The Spanish newspaper Diario AS claims that the sport's best-known secret may already be scheduled for official confirmation on the Friday of the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

The report believes Ferrari has not decided which of the team's contracted 2010 drivers, Felipe Massa or Kimi Raikkonen, will be ushered aside to make room for the former double world champion, who currently races for Renault.

AS said Ferrari intends to hold its major end-of-season event at Valencia in November, not only to welcome Alonso to the team, but also its new 2010 Spanish sponsor Santander.

The report said Alonso could be the ‘surprise guest’ at the event, but would have to wear casual clothes because of his Renault contract through December 31st.

This was being expected for quite some time. The bigger question is who will be out of the current Ferrari team - Massa or Kimi..?

PF1 says Seb Vettel is gonna be signed up for the 2011 season.

If that happens, watch out for a repeat of the 2007 McLaren fiasco at Ferrari

But whoever stays, his days too could be numbered as AS speculates that Ferrari are also interested in signing Sebastian Vettel for the 2011 season.

Seems like Ferrari want to keep their lips tightly sealed until the day it will be announced.. or maybe all these talks about Alonso going to Ferrari are just rumours.

Quote:
The Ferrari team has silenced any rumours suggesting that former double World Champion Fernando Alonso will be heading the way of the Italian team next season. With Spain's Diario AS reporting that a deal from 2010 to 2014 could be announced at the Italian Grand Prix, the Scuderia has put to bed any gossip.

With 2005 and 2006 Champion Alonso long since linked with a possible connection to Ferrari, a get out clause in the Spaniard's current Renault pact would allow him to leave the team at the end of 2009. However, with rumours prone to circulation at this time of the year and Ferrari being tipped as making at announcement at Monza in September, the team has hushed any assumptions.

"We cannot waste time in commenting on all of the rumours," team press officer Luca Colajanni told Italy's Gazetta dello Sport. "Just remember that Massa and Räikkönen have contracts until 2010.

Just because Santander gonna be the sponsors for Ferrari from the coming season,it is rumoured that Alonso gonna sign deal with Ferrari as the same happened with Mclaren in 2007.Kimi as well as Ferrari and Alonso has denied of any deal between them for the coming season.
