Default Race 15 - Suzuka, Japan - Practice 2 - Sutil ahead

Quote:
For a long while it seemed that nobody would even set a time during the second session of practice in Suzuka on Friday afternoon. Shortly after Heikki Kovalainen had set the fastest time this morning the rain got heavier, and after the two Toro Rossos each did a lap this afternoon, nobody ventured out for over an hour.

Then, with 25 minutes left, conditions eased and Jaime Alguersuari wheeled his STR4 round in 1m 56.848s.

Eventually, everybody bar the Brawns and Kovalainen’s McLaren recorded laps. As once again the times fell as the track got slightly drier, Adrian Sutil set the fastest time for Force India in 1m 47.261s, with team mate Tonio Liuzzi third on 1m 47.931s. Sebastian Vettel sat between them in his Red Bull on 1m 47.923s. McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton was the only other runner below 1m 48s, with 1m 47.983s.

Kazuki Nakajima was on form again for Williams, taking his FW31 round in 1m 48.058s to head Toro Rosso’s Sebastien Buemi (1m 48.691s), Renault’s Fernando Alonso (1m 48.693s), Toyota’s Jarno Trulli (1m 48.737s), Alguersuari (1m 48.802s), BMW Sauber’s Robert Kubica (1m 48.861s) and Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen (1m 48.886s).

Then came Toyota’s Kamui Kobayashi (1m 49.054s), standing in for the feverish Timo Glock, Red Bull’s Mark Webber (1m 49.382s), Renault’s Romain Grosjean (1m 49.405s), Ferrari’s Giancarlo Fisichella (1m 49.553s), Williams’ Nico Rosberg (1m 49.872s) and BMW Sauber’s Nick Heidfeld (1m 50.179s).
