Default Hamilton: It's just one of those days

Lewis Hamilton was rather philosophical about his disrupted outing at Jerez on Friday, saying it's was just "one of those days."

After just an hour of lapping on a dry track, the predicted rain began to fall and did not let up for the rest of the day.

As a result the drivers spent a great deal of time in their respective garages, either because it was too wet or because one of the day's four red flags was being waved.

"It's one of those days," said Hamilton, who finished P9 having completed just 68 laps.

"Not too much to say really. We had a dry morning and it straightaway felt okay this morning. It's not too bad in the wet, but there was too much water."

The McLaren driver, though, insisted that the situation hadn't got him down. "I feel great," he told Autosport.

"We got enough work done. I would've loved to have had a dry day of course, everyone probably would have.

"I like driving in the wet, but it was just a bit too much water. It would be nice if it was a bit more consistent. But I feel positive about my car."

As for where McLaren are in the pecking order, Hamilton believes there are too many variables to make even a wild guess.

"We've only done one test and there's such a huge variation with fuel loads so we have absolutely no idea - less of an idea than we had in the past.

"Some people could be driving with 30 kilos or 10 kilos, others could have 150. So it's impossible to say."
