Default Stefan GP forced to cancel Portugal test

Stefan GP's hopes of making the grid for the 2010 season opener in Bahrain have suffered a slight setback.

The Serbian outfit have been forced to call off plans to test at Portugal's Portimao track this week after failing to secure tyres to run on.

Despite not having an entry to race this year, Stefan GP have been moving full steam ahead with plans to run the Stefan S-01 in Portugal this week, but the team could not find a suitable rubber.

Bridgestone, F1's official tyre supplier, is only contracted to supply teams who have entries into the World Championship.

"We cannot do the test at the moment and we are still trying to find a solution," team owner Zoran Stefanovic told Autosport. "We have no tyres and will not test on tyres that are not suitable for the car to go testing at full speed.

"We now need to see what our options are, but we definitely need to do something to sort this situation out."
