'Campos to become Hispania Racing' - Formula 1 news - GPUpdate.net

Quote:
The Spanish media reports on Tuesday that the Campos Meta team, recently purchased by shareholder José Ramón Carabante, will change its name to Hispania Racing F1 Team ahead of the upcoming season. Furthermore, India's Karun Chandhok is still expected to partner Bruno Senna in its line-up.

With former F1 driver Adrián Campos no longer involved in the team which continues to carry his name, the Madrid-based outfit will modify its label before the season begins, according to Spanish news agency EFE, which reports that Carabante will present plans for 2010 in the Victor Villegas auditorium in Murcia on Thursday.

The new name would come from Carabante's Grupo Hispania, with Chandhok expected to be announced at the team alongside Senna in due course. Also on Tuesday, Argentina's José María López is being reported as a possible contender for the reserve seat, with his US F1 race drive now looking highly unlikely.

Venezuela's Pastor Maldonado has also been linked with the Spansih team, whose cars will be powered by Cosworth engines.
