Default Vettel Wins

Vettel dominates British GP

Quote:
Sebastian Vettel utterly dominated the British Grand Prix to take the first dry-weather victory of his Formula 1 career and Red Bull Racing’s second ever 1-2.

The 21-year-old German successfully converted his pole position this time and capitalised on RBR’s new-found superiority to disappear into the distance and seal his second win of 2009 and the third of his young career.

Team-mate Mark Webber failed to get past Rubens Barrichello on the opening lap and by the time he did so at the first round of pit stops, Vettel was long gone.

The hitherto-dominant Brawn team couldn’t hold a candle to Red Bull at Silverstone and Barrichello had to make do with third place, just enough to keep him ahead of Vettel in the championship standings.

Felipe Massa used fuel strategy and strong race pace to climb from 11th on the grid to fourth, while Nico Rosberg took fifth for Williams for the second straight race.

Home hero Jenson Button had a largely miserable afternoon, dropping three places to ninth on the opening lap and then struggling to make any headway.

But he leapfrogged Jarno Trulli and Kimi Raikkonen with a late final stop and, having switched to the soft-compound tyres, found that his car came alive in the closing stages.

Button chased down Rosberg and Massa but had to settle for sixth, meaning that his points lead over Barrichello has been trimmed slightly to 25 points.

Toyota’s Trulli and Ferrari’s Raikkonen completed the points finishers.

Vettel dominated from the start as expected
I watched the start and the end, Damn got busy in between

Renault seems to be improving really well this season. And Button would have wanted this more than anything else

Btw Fisichella at 10th There is still some hope for Mallaya to get 1 point this season
